Advent season is mulled wine season!
Today we're diving into one of my favorite topics: Wine, of course – but this time, the warm kind – mulled wine!!! When the days get shorter, the nights turn super cold, and Advent is in the air, that's when it's definitely mulled wine time.
The Olive: A Little Fruit with a Big Story
November is traditionally olive harvest time in Chianti, just like in all of Tuscany. I've also had the pleasure many times of being there for the harvest and pressing of the fruits, seeing firsthand how that bitter fruit transforms into a green delicacy that's absolutely essential in Italian cooking.
My Trip to Gaiole: 25 Wineries in One Go!
Gaiole in Chianti is a town with just under 3,000 residents, part of the Siena province. And even though it's only about 23 kilometers (a good half-hour drive) from 'my' Panzano, it opens up a whole new world of wines!

It was already the 24th Vino al Vino event, which took place from September 13-16, 2018, on the Piazza in Panzano in Chianti. And of course, I was right there in the thick of it for all four days, live and present, meeting lots of friends and even some customers – which made me especially happy.
Il Palagio in their heart and Sangiovese in their blood
At Azienda Agricola Il Palagio in Panzano in Chianti, Monia Piccini and her husband Franco make amazing red wines in one of the best spots of the shell-shaped Conca d'Oro, and recently, their Rosato Aldemara too. They also produce a fantastic extra virgin olive oil.

The wine festival in Greve in Chianti, known as Expo Chianti Classico, is one of the most important events in the Chianti region, happening every year on the second weekend of September. This lively gathering of many businesses is organized by the Consorzio Chianti Classico.
The Antica Macelleria Cecchini in Panzano in Chianti: To Beef or not to beef!
A few weeks ago, in my blog post about Panzano in Chianti, I briefly mentioned my friend Dario Cecchini and his Antica Macelleria. But there's so much more to tell about Dario himself, his journey, his passion for meat, and his meaty visions brought to life.
New at Nina in Chianti: The Tenuta degli Dei winery by Tommaso Cavalli!
I'm always on the lookout for new wineries and exciting wines from Chianti Classico. For a while now, I've occasionally heard about, read about, and even tasted a sip or two of Tommaso Cavalli's wines...
