I'm Nina in Chianti.
And I love Chianti Classico.
The moment that changed everything
I will never forget that late autumn day in Panzano in Chianti. It was almost 25 years ago when I first arrived there. I discovered this small, inconspicuous wall. I sat down on it—and before me opened up this incredible vista: grapevines, olive trees, old stone houses, cypresses, and those rolling hills that almost glowed in the warm autumn light.
Something happened in this tranquility. It felt as if the landscape had struck me with a silent, very accurate arrow of love. And the longer I sat there, the more curious I became. First about the wine —how it grows here, where I can try it, what makes it so special. Then about these wonderful places, the most beautiful spots that seem to hide behind every bend in the road. And of course: Where can I get the best pasta? Where can I find that honest, good food called "Cucina Toscana"? I wanted to learn everything, smell everything, taste everything, and experience everything.
A spark that has remained
I wantedto understand what makes this region so special: how the wine is produced here, why the landscape seems so harmonious, and why the people work with such respect and awareness. At that moment, I realized how finely everything fits together here—nature, craftsmanship, cuisine, tradition.
And that is precisely what continues to fascinate me to this day. Perhaps because even back then, I sensed how much attitude and philosophy of life it embodies. This "live and let live" approach has stayed with me ever since—and the more I learn, the more this Chianti Classico captivates me.
“Many years ago, Chianti Classico stole my heart, and its magic continues to this day. I pass on what I have learned along the way to people who really want to experience this special region of Tuscany.”
My experience, your advantage
Today, I show people the Chianti Classico as I have experienced it myself in recent years. I accompany vacationers, wine lovers, and professionals through this landscape, explain the special features of the wine, and take them to the places that are close to my heart.
My tours last a whole day and take us to wineries, cellars, good food, and places where you can really feel Tuscany. For me, it's not just about wine tasting, but about the whole experience: the interplay of landscape, tradition, cuisine, and the people who make it all happen. That's exactly the feeling I want to convey.
An unforgettable day
I love meeting people and connecting them with what has inspired me for years. When I see that spark ignite in them, my heart swells with joy.
My aim is to show you the real Chianti Classico: my favorite places, that special light, a small osteria, a good glass of wine. When we sit there, talk, taste, and everything fits together perfectly, that's a perfect moment for me.
And when I see that my guests are happy and take something valuable away with them, it warms my heart all over again.
How everything became what it is today...
And it went "zoom"
This is my first time in Chianti Classico. And although I have been familiar with viticulture since childhood, something completely different strikes me here: a spark that immediately ignites and changes everything.
Travel, read, discover.
During these years, I find myself drawn back to Chianti Classico time and time again. Each time, I try new wines, read more, learn more, and notice how I am growing deeper and deeper into this region—step by step, year by year.
Deepen your wine knowledge.
I begin my training at the Wine Academy in Rust and learn to understand the wines of the world from a theoretical perspective for the first time: the wine regions, their typical wines, and their characteristics.
Entering the wine industry
After years in marketing and banking, I entered the world of wine with the founding of VINOVUM Weinhandel. I run a wine shop and supply hotels and restaurants with wines from Austria and Italy.
The courage to specialize
I have decided to finally follow my heart's desire: to specialize entirely in Chianti Classico. The time is ripe for a special online shop offering only wines from the Chianti Classico wine region.
NinainChianti.com is created
My online shop is getting a new name and a new look. I'm starting to blog, telling stories about wineries, sharing knowledge, experiences, and recipes.
Chianti Classico for your ears
My podcast "A glass of wine with Nina in Chianti" goes online. I meet winemakers, explain interesting facts, tell stories, and give insights into my world.
