Back to Panzano!
The time has come - my #SehnsuchtChiantiClassico has come to an end! Because at the moment I'm writing these lines, I'm sitting in my favorite spot in Panzano in Chianti, my feet on the little stone wall, my laptop on my lap. The vineyards are a lush green, my café smells of lavender and the bees are buzzing eagerly.
#SehnsuchtChiantiClassico: A video meeting with Emilia and Giovanni d'Orsi from Fattoria Casaloste
There is a glimmer of hope these days, as the coronavirus measures in Austria, Germany and Italy are slowly being relaxed. There is even the prospect that the border between Austria and Italy will be opened this summer.
#SehnsuchtChiantiClassico: A video wine tasting with Cosimo Gericke from Fattoria Rignana
While the strict coronavirus restrictions in Austria and Germany are being eased step by step and restaurants, museums, excursion destinations and even borders are being reopened, the easing of measures in Italy is being handled somewhat more restrictively.
#SehnsuchtChiantiClassico: my virtual aperitif with Vicky Schmitt-Vitali from the Le Fonti winery
Today is part two of my new blog series #SehnsuchtChiantiClassico, in which I will be looking at how people in my beloved Chianti are faring in these difficult times over the coming days and weeks. This time, Vicky Schmitt-Vitali tells us about the current situation at her winery Fattoria Le Fonti, how her husband Guido and the children are doing, how the family will be celebrating Easter and what thoughts accompany them.
#SehnsuchtChiantiClassico: A conversation with Alessia Riccieri from the Antico Podere Gagliole winery
My new blog series - As you probably know, I'm keeping something of a "wine and Chianti diary" here on my blog. About wines from the Chianti Classico that I have drunk. About places I have visited. But above all about people I've met. About winegrowers, employees at wineries and restaurateurs.
Panzano Arte: a path with sculptures by Nathalie Decoster through the vineyards of Panzano
As we all know, summer is the time for the finer things in life! And what could be better than the combination of art and wine enjoyment! For this very reason, sculptures by the renowned French artist Nathalie Decoster will be presented for the first time in and around Panzano in Chianti until September 18, 2019 under the title Panzano Arte.
